Frequently Asked Questions
What tests are available?
You'll have access to an HTMA (hair tissue mineral analysis) and a GI-MAP stool test (depending on which program option you choose). You'll get a list of functional labs to request from your doctor (with optimal functional ranges included). Alternately, you can purchase your own discounted labs online (we'll provide resources) or we can order a panel for you to get drawn at a local Labcorp. The comprehensive panel we recommend is about $250 and assesses thyroid function, metabolic health, immune health, baseline hormone levels, and more. Note: NJ and NY clients must have blood drawn in another state. If you'd like a more comprehensive look at your hormone health, you can add-on our DUTCH (dried urine test for comprehensive hormones) Testing Package. Please know that testing hormones in perimenopause is tricky as they fluctuate from day to day, so hormone tests aren't always accurate or reliable.
What kind of support do I get?
You get 3 private sessions, two small group coaching calls per month, and access to THR Community on our secure client app, where you can post questions anytime and get a response within 24 hours, Monday through Friday. You'll also get a plan tailored to you, once we review your test results. We're here to support you and help you succeed - but you need to show up :)
Is there any private support?
Yes! You'll be asked to fill out an in-depth intake form, with your health history, current symptoms, any supplements you're taking, meal examples, daily habits and more. You'll get a 60-minute health assessment, a 30-minute test review session (once we have your test results), and a 30-minute follow-up session. You also get limited private messaging via our secure client portal. If you'd like additional sessions, you'll have the opportunity to purchase them at a discounted rate. 
When do the group calls take place?
The group calls take place every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month, alternating times. If you can't attend live, you'll be able to submit your question(s) ahead of time to be answered on the live call. The calls are recorded, so you can watch them at your convenience.
Is there a specific diet I need to follow?
We don't believe in restrictive diets or eliminating tons of foods (we love protein, fat and carbs!). You'll get recommendations for hormone-friendly functional foods to enjoy and a handful of problematic foods to avoid. That said, depending on your unique needs, we may provide more specific food guidelines (i.e. amount of protein/carbs to consume, low histamine diet, etc.). We share over 200 delicious recipes & meal ideas you’ll love!
Do I have to take a lot of supplements?
In this day and age, most of us are deficient in key nutrients and it's one of the many reasons we experience bothersome symptoms! Ideally you'd get all your nutrients from food, but unfortunately, that's not always enough. Between depleted soil, pesticides in produce, stress, restaurant food, and eating on-the-go, assume you need some nutritional support. I believe in supplementing what's lost and/or correcting underlying imbalances. Once we review your intake form and test results, we create a customized plan, which includes supplement suggestions. But of course, it is your choice whether or not you utilize them. 
What if I can’t get through all of the content you share?
You can access the resources anytime via our secure client app. Once you enroll, you’ll create an account and login to review the material. However, I suggest you download the resources to your computer should you choose to leave the program when your time has ended. If you'd like continued access to the resources, you'll have the opportunity to remain in our low-cost monthly membership.
Is this suitable for vegans?
Based on research and clinical experience, I believe we thrive with animal foods in our diet. If you're willing to eat eggs, fish, quality protein powders, collagen, etc., it could work (as long as you're not allergic/sensitive to these foods of course). Please submit an application so we can chat and determine if you're a good fit.
Can I do this if I'm on hormonal birth control?
Yes, as it's vital to make all the food and lifestyle changes I recommend. And if you've been on the pill or taken any form of hormonal contraceptives, you must support nutritional deficiencies and optimize your gut health. 
Is this suitable if I'm in perimenopause?
Yes! If you're in your 40s and experiencing many of the symptoms listed above, you are starting your perimenopausal journey. You must implement the food and lifestyle foundations we teach. A comprehensive blood panel, HTMA and GI-MAP (if in your budget) will benefit you greatly. Testing your sex hormones if you're in your 40s may not give an accurate reading, since they fluctuate from day to day. Yes, this is one thing your doctor is right about ;) That said, we do have some options to test your hormones, if you'd like. 
Can I do this if I'm pregnant or postpartum?
No, this program is not for you if you are pregnant or newly postpartum. 
Can you guide me on BHRT (bioidentical hormone replacement therapy)?
While we cannot prescribe (you need a well-versed licensed practitioner for this), we will guide you in the right direction, provide education and resources to help you get the support you need. We also include an HRT Providers Directory to reduce overwhelm in finding a prescribing provider when and if the time is right to start hormone replacement therapy. If you start HRT, we help guide you in fine-tuning your regimen (with your prescribing provider) and better advocate for yourself throughout the process.
I'm so busy! Will I have time for this?
As a busy woman myself, I had other busy women (like you) in mind when creating the program. I've designed it so you get weekly emails guiding you through 9 easy-to-consume modules. There are no long videos, tons of audio or ebooks to download. The PDFs are about 4-5 pages, with the longest being 12 pages. There are also some audio clips that are under 2 minutes each. The group coaching calls provide support in addition to your private sessions and the client support group, but are not mandatory. Most of our clients are action takers, get incredible results by diving into the modules, implementing what they learn, as well as the personalized protocols we create.
What can I expect from the community?
THR Community is an intimate, safe space with women on the same journey as you, where you can ask questions and get support from me and my team. We have Accountability Mondays and Check-In Fridays, with additional resources to help you. It’s a no-judgement zone, where you can make friends along the way. 
Will there be ongoing support?
Yes. If you'd like continued support once you complete the program, The Hormone Rescue Membership is perfect for you. You'll remain in the client support group, have access to the client portal, group calls, any new content that's added, and option to re-test at VIP pricing.
Is there a payment plan, what payment methods do you accept, and do you take insurance?
You can either pay in full, choose our payment plan or apply for Advance Care Card (a credit card that can only be used to pay for healthcare services and provides 15 months of interest-free financing - email claudia@claudiapetrilli.com for more info on this card). The payment processor we use is Stripe and we're able to accept all major credit/debit cards. Health Coaching is not typically covered by insurance. However, we've been able to accept FSA/HSA cards. That said, it's 100% your responsibility to get approval from them. Every insurance company is different, so we cannot guarantee they will cover our services. We are able to provide you with a receipt for services rendered, if they require you to submit one. You are generally able to use your FSA/HSA for supplements you purchase through Fullscript, our online dispensary, as well as online lab ordering. 
What is your refund policy?
